Everything You Need to Know About RTKs Part Two

Updated: Dec 12, 2022

Today we’re sharing additional helpful information about Right to Know requests.

  • Any email communication that you have with the WCASD is subject to a RTK. This means that anything you write via email could potentially end up being released as public information, so keep this in mind when you email the school district (or any government entity).

  • The district is not required to provide a record that does not exist, so when making requests, be sure that the document you are requesting is something that the RTK officer can photocopy or send as an attachment

  • The RTK officer for the WCASD is knowledgeable and helpful, and will usually call you if she needs clarification on your request.

Our Friday Facts series will give you a glimpse of some of the information we have discovered via RTKs . . . stay tuned!
